5 Months with Cameron

NEW SCHEDULE:

Things are looking a little different here. I've loosened our schedule a bit, we're still doing the same amount of work, but we aren't sitting for it all.

We read our book outside usually.
We start each day with a different subject and mix up the order of our subjects.
We sometimes watch Barenstein Bears at noon and talk about the learning point.
Cam picks out a book to read every day in addition to the chapter book we are reading.
I have found a few things for him to draw or color during the week. (a symbol for each month, etc)

I've evaluated my list of objectives and feel like we've accomplished several of them:

Academically:

repetitive math practice:
He's mastered multiplication and simple division
He's learned basic geometry, graphing and working with time.
He's had a lot of practice with word problems.
He doesn't cringe when it's time to read. He likes to pick the books he reads.

Spiritually:
We definitely have controlled his influences.
I think we have improved his moral compass/filled his moral warehouse

Emotionally:
He is a better worker than he was when he started.

There are many things we haven't accomplished:
Spelling/Vocabulary - still working on it
Salvation - we're praying for this daily
Serving - he has no thought of others first unless it benefits him
He still is quite worried about "big" assignments and missing problems. Thee are vey much a part of the way he is made, but we have made some progress...just not corrected the problems associated with this.
