Frozen in the Back Yard

I've tried to make it clear that when we're all 10 able to be in the same place we're going to not be running around but instead, eating, playing and laughing together. We planned a full day at home, but the energy could not be contained inside! No matter that it was 38 degrees, everyone layered up, grabbed a beanie, gathered sticks for the fire pit and played some sort of kickball in the back yard. There was the usual smack talking and when you were waiting to bat you could warm up by the fire!

Cameron has so little body fat that he gets seriously cold quickly! His little hands and feet start aching...and it must be bad if he is even thinking of leaving a game. After about 7 innings we call it quits, the sticks have all been used, everyone's hands are frozen, and the novelty of playing outside in arctic weather is over. The last picture in this post became one of our favorites from the holidays.
