There are 10 of us now. We put a little bit of a limit on our love letters this year...encouraged everyone to not go overboard with long accolades. I didn't want to damper this gift we all give each other, but last year we had about 4 hours of love notes. This year it was a little smoother, broken up with breakfast, and just as meaningful as it's ever been.
The last few years we have all been through a lot of transitions. I would say that we're at a better place now than we were this summer, but there is still hurt and hesitation from some to love big. Our love letters are kept in folders for the kids to have. I think there will be times in our lives when having a folder full of love notes from people who know you and love you BIG would be a great encouragement. That is just one reason we write them... As each year passes and the kids get older the letters get a little more personal and definitely more meaningful. I'm praying next year might be the year when everyone in the room is completely in; not only enjoying getting the treasures of encouragement and love, but also wanting to give them as well.
